“I will bring to the bench a lifetime of professional experience and the understanding of our concerns that only comes from living a full life as a parent, taxpayer, and volunteer in our community. As your Magisterial District Judge, I will use that experience and understanding - along with common sense - to provide fair and equal justice to every resident who comes before the court.
That's my promise to you.”
Terry Hughes is a retired law enforcement officer of nearly 30 years, a husband, a father, a homeowner, and a taxpayer. He will bring to the bench a lifetime of experience dealing with the challenges our families face every day - along with the professional skills and common sense to deal with them as Judge.
Terry is already registered to take the state's required certification course and will be ready from day one to serve as Judge.
Terry Hughes has been involved in hundreds of cases in our District and County Courts. He has also been a leader in the fight against criminals in our community, along with working to put youth who make a mistake back on the right track in life. Through it all, Terry earned a reputation for fairness and ethics we deserve in our next Judge.
Most importantly, Terry has a common sense plan to make our court even stronger.
Terry Hughes has proven his commitment to our community and families. As a Lieutenant with our local police, he oversaw the Community Police, Youth Aid, and Coffee With A Cop programs that built better relationships between the public and police.
As Judge, Terry will come down from the bench to interact with our community by visiting schools, civic groups, residents and more. That's because he knows the best way to serve our community is to reflect its needs,
Terry Hughes has lived in Bristol Township for 60 years and will ensure that our local court remains "The People's Court" - a place people can come for fair justice without need for a lawyer. Most importantly, he has the common sense to render fair justice that comes only from having lived a full professional and personal life.
